Stitching Ceremonial Garments

After a summer of stitching the NELE volunteers have been busy turning the New East London Embroiderers finished pieces into wearable garments.

Under the leadership of fashion designer Lisa Friedl, our young volunteers have been pattern cutting, basting and machining the embroidered panels together. They now have until October to finish the six garments which will be displayed at the Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace followed by a month at Kensington Palace, home to Prince William and Kate.

We can’t wait to see the finished results! Well done to Lisa and all our volunteers who have been working hard on designing and making our modern ceremonial dress collection.
